VivaCell-MTS reasserts its commitment to friendship with culture

VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian, the Artistic Director and General Conductor of the State Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia Eduard Topchyan and the Director of the State Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia Ruzanna Sirunyan invited a joint press conference and presented the projects implemented together in 2010 and 2011, and shared the plans for 2011-2012.

The new concert season will start in September with the Yerevan 5th Musical Festival, with participation of world-known performances such as Julia Fischer, Konstantin Lifshits, Paul Meyer, Gilbert Audin, and others.

The State Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia plans a new series of concerts designed especially for students. On March 25 the orchestra will come up with project – Chaykovsky’s “The Nutcracker” literary and musical composition with full performance of the music of the ballet. In spring the Armenian audience will have a chance to see also Gioachino Rossini’s “The Barber of Seville”.

“Music is an art of living in style. And the path to perfection starts with thinking and acting beautiful. We have to think about the system of values of the next generation today. All our efforts are aimed at that,” said VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian.

Throughout the previous concert season the classic music lovers had an opportunity to see and to hear the performance of world masterpieces of musical art in a variety of interpretations, including “Eugene Onegin” by Pyotr Tchaykovsky staged at Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall (Director Vigen Chaldranyan, Conductor Eduard Topchyan).

The program of the traditional Yerevan 4th musical festival held during the last season included the best pieces of Armenian and Western European composers performed by renowned musicians.

Owing to VivaCell-MTS support, the orchestra had about 35 concerts in Yerevan, 2 in Frankfurt am Mein, Germany, and other one in Bratislava, Slovakia. There are plans for some 20 more concerts.

The orchestra will celebrate 85th anniversary of its creation and the 20th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Armenia.
