VoWi-Fi (Wi-Fi Calling) is already available on the Viva-MTS network. When the mobile network signal is weak or unavailable, you can use Wi-Fi Calling to make or receive calls. With this service and a VoWi-Fi-compatible smartphone, you can make calls by connecting to any Wi-Fi network at home or abroad. Simply connect to a Wi-Fi network and continue using mobile services.
Earlier Viva-MTS has announced the pilot launch of the service Wi-Fi Calling. Now VoWi-Fi has become a reality.
What are the advantages of the service VoWiFi?
VoWi-Fi allows to make calls through Wi-Fi when the mobile network signal is weak or unavailable.
While travelling, your phone automatically uses Wi-Fi instead of the mobile network; and the tariffs set by your current tariff plan apply when making or receiving calls.
When calling with VoWi-Fi, it’s not mandatory for the recipient to have a VoWiFi-compatible smartphone or an active WiFi Calling to answer the call.
VoWi-Fi doesn’t require activating roaming or downloading any OTT app.
How to activate VoWiFi?
To use the service VoWi-Fi, you should have a phone with the appropriate Wi-Fi calling function installed and activated by the manufacturer for our region.
VoWi-Fi is easy to use: simply activate Wi-Fi Calling, then set a priority for the calls made through Wi-Fi. As a result, even when not connected to the mobile network (when it is unavailable) or in airplane mode, the call is automatically made in VoWi-Fi mode as soon as the smartphone gets registered in the Wi-Fi network.
