For the first time in Armenia, again: Viva-MTS launches the first in Armenia 5G network in Yerevan

Viva-MTS announced today that its 5G network, which is the first in Armenia, is now available in the capital of Armenia Yerevan. The launch of 5G goes in line with the Company’s long-term commitment to continuous enrichment of customer experience and supporting the growth of the national economy.

In Armenia, there will be phased-in roll-out of 5G.

5G is the latest and fastest mobile network generation in the world. For smartphone and smart devices users, 5G enables improved performance. 5G will serve as an essential infrastructure for boosting economic activity in Armenia. As everywhere in the world, 5G is expected to support the growth and development of Internet of Things (IoT) technology – millions of devices seamlessly connected and sharing data through a single super-fast network. 5G will power the digital future, as it is an essential boost for the development of digital economy spanning spheres but not limited to medicine, transportation, logistics, AI application, M2M, better use of applications, cloud technology, environment, urban development, smart agriculture and many more. Introduction of 5G will drive the development of the whole ICT sector in Armenia further. 

5G is now live in Yerevan City Center, with perspective of extending to whole Yerevan and beyond. Needless to say that 5G is an essential infrastructure for enhancing the reputation of the country worldwide and attracting investment.

Viva-MTS proves another time to be the true pioneer of innovations in Armenia’s telecommunications sector. Thus, back in 2009, Viva-MTS implemented Armenia’s first 3G/UMTS/HSPA rollout.
